The use of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC)

Application field
  1. Building mortar, plastering mortar
High water retention can fully hydrate cement, significantly increase bonding strength, and appropriately increase tensile and shear strength, greatly improving construction efficiency and work efficiency.    
2. Water resistant putty
Cellulose ether in putty mainly serves to retain water, bond and lubricate, avoiding cracks and dehydration caused by rapid water loss. At the same time, it enhances the adhesion of the putty and reduces sagging during construction, making the construction smoother and more successful.    
3. Painting gypsum series
In the gypsum series products, cellulose ether mainly plays a role in water retention, thickening, lubrication, and has a certain retarder effect, solving the problems of bulging and insufficient initial strength during construction, and can extend working time.    
4. Interface agent
Mainly used as a thickener, it can improve tensile strength and shear strength, improve surface coating, enhance adhesion and bonding strength.    
5. External wall insulation mortar
Cellulose ether plays a key role in bonding and increasing strength in this material. It makes sand easier to apply, improves work efficiency, and has anti sagging properties. Its high water retention performance can extend the working time of mortar, improve its resistance to shrinkage and cracking, improve surface quality, and enhance bonding strength.    
6. Ceramic tile adhesive
High water retention does not require pre soaking or wetting of tiles and bases, significantly improving their bonding strength. The slurry can have a long construction period, is delicate, uniform, and convenient to use, while also having good resistance to moisture migration.    
7. Filler and groove sealant
The addition of cellulose ether gives it good edge adhesion, low shrinkage rate, and high wear resistance, protecting the base material from mechanical damage and avoiding the impact of penetration on the entire building.    
8. DC flat material
The stable adhesion of cellulose ether ensures good fluidity and self leveling ability, controls the water retention rate to enable rapid solidification, reduces cracking and shrinkage.    
9. Latex paint coating
In the coating industry, cellulose ether can be used as a film-forming agent, thickener, emulsifier, and stabilizer, making its film have good wear resistance, uniformity, adhesion, and improved surface tension. The pH is qualitative, and its compatibility with organic solvents is also good. Its high water retention performance makes it have good brushing and leveling properties.    
10. Honeycomb pottery
Provide lubricity, water retention, and improved strength to the new honeycomb ceramics.    
11. PVC
In the floating polymerization of vinyl chloride (VC), the dispersion system directly affects the quality of PVC resin and its processing and products; Improving the thermal stability of the resin and controlling the particle size distribution (by adjusting the density of PVC), the amount of HPMC used accounts for 0.025% -0.03% of PVC production. The PVC resin prepared from high-quality HPMC not only ensures that its performance meets international standards, but also has good apparent properties, excellent particle characteristics, and excellent melt rheological behavior.
